Healing Starts With Presence

Myofascial Release and Nervous System Regulation

My style of Myofascial Release (MFR) is slow, intentional, and entirely guided by you. It’s an approach that creates space for your nervous system to slow down, regulate, and experience a sense of internal safety.

This way of working is deeply informed by my background as a Somatic Coach. As a Massage Therapist with over a decade of hands-on experience, I’ve witnessed how the body holds onto more than just physical tension. Chronic emotional stress, unprocessed trauma, and limiting beliefs can all become stored patterns within the body, shaping how we feel, move, and respond to the world around us.

Much of this patterning lives within the fascia. Fascia is a collagen-rich connective tissue that wraps, supports, and separates muscles, organs, and bones. Beyond its structural role, it plays a key part in circulation, hydration, and how muscles function together as an integrated system. It also has a profound influence on posture, movement, and the regulation of the nervous system.

When the nervous system is consistently in a state of survival, this directly impacts the health and behavior of the fascia. The body perceives that it isn’t safe to soften or let its guard down. Over time, this state of hypervigilance can contribute to constricted fascial patterns that may show up as pain, inflammation, reduced flexibility, or areas that feel dense or restricted.

This work is especially supportive for those who:

  • Feel stuck in patterns of tension, pain, or limited mobility that haven’t fully responded to traditional massage or bodywork.

  • Are navigating chronic stress, burnout, or nervous system dysregulation.

  • Have experienced trauma and are seeking a gentle, body-based approach to healing.

  • Notice areas of the body that feel dense, guarded, or disconnected.

  • Prefer slow, intentional work over high-pressure or intensity-based techniques.

  • Are looking to deepen their connection to their body and develop greater awareness of internal sensations.

  • Want a collaborative, consent-based experience where their body sets the pace.

What you can expect:

  • This approach does not use lotion or cream right away. By working with direct, dry contact, we’re able to access and gently unwind the superficial layers of the fascia, helping to increase circulation in the areas being addressed.

  • We’ll work with your breath and spend unhurried time in each area, allowing the body to release at its own pace. This supports the nervous system in recognizing that it is safe to soften, relax, and let go.

  • We may not always address the entire body, especially during shorter sessions. Myofascial Release and regulating the nervous system takes time, and by focusing on the most affected areas first, we begin to create a foundation for meaningful, lasting change
